The Troop will meet tomorrow night at the Moose for the first night of our “DIY” or “life skills” program theme. Jim emailed out the program options to all of you this past Wednesday (10/16) so please look at that email. Some additional details for these meetings will be down below.
Don’t forget that Swim Night is on WEDNESDAY NIGHT this week!
A quick note on campouts: Did you sign up for a recent campout and promise to PAY us later and maybe forgot? The envelopes have been light on cash in recent months and it’s not all being paid by Venmo. The money you pay for campouts generally covers the FOOD YOU EAT and some general supplies. If money is an issue, please speak with Jim or I about it, we won’t turn you away. But it is not fair for you to not pay your share of the campout if you are able, and leave everyone else paying to buy the food that you are eating on the campout. We use the honor system because a Scout is trustworthy, please don’t force us to switch to a more formal sign up and payment process.
Have you signed up for the USS Constitution overnight in early November yet? It’s only $10 to attend! We will be camping later in November, too!
Keep an eye out soon for an opportunity to order special Troop 19 apparel! We’re working on sampling and pricing several items that have been requested by our members and hope to have multiple item options. If all goes to plan, we will take orders sometime in late October into mid-November with the hope that all items are delivered to us in time to get them to you before the holidays! Stay tuned!
We will also have information for you soon about MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL as the process has completely changed for us compared to previous years and most current members of Troop 19 are coming up on their first renewal cycle under this new system at the end of the year. Under the new system, YOU the individual member or parent of a youth member are responsible for logging into the national Scouting system (my.scouting.org) and completing the membership fee payment online directly to Scouting instead of it going through our hands first. Stay tuned for details on that!
We have added many of our scheduled activities for the next year to the Troop 19 Google calendar and we continue to add more. We suggest you subscribe to the calendar to receive new events and updates automatically. Calendar link: https://tinyurl.com/2jr59fjb

FOR ALL SCOUTS: Please wear a Class B shirt under your Class A. Several of the skill instruction offerings can get messy and you may want to take your nice, clean uniform shirt off rather than risk ruining it.
For Scouts who wish to learn the important skill of sewing, bring something to sew! Do you have patches that need to go on to your uniform? What about the merit badges you were just awarded, we could teach you how to sew those on to your merit badge sash if you bring both!
For John Fitzgerald’s resume and interview skills class, bring paper and pen (you should always have a pen anyways, right?) and older Scouts may want to bring a laptop to the meeting with them.
