- MAY SPECIAL CAMPOUT – Highland Games at Camp Richard (Nantucket) May 3-5
- The Cape & Islands Council Highland Games camporee is being held this year. It is at Camp Richard on Nantucket, how many of you have ever camped there?
- The Troop Committee is subsidizing the fee for you to attend this camporee,
- The fee INCLUDES the ferry transportation to/from the island from Hyannis and 4 meals on the campout.
- We will need help carpooling. We are also seeking an adult to help the Scoutmaster take the lead on coordinating this activity.
- A permission form is required for all attending (attached). A few of you were contacted by Jim about providing us an updated BSA medical form.

- Bags – Everyone should have
- A backpacking style backpack for their personal gear. Talk to Jim if you need help with this. Your gear will be loaded onto the ferry and once on the island it will go on a truck to camp. You won’t have access to this bag until you get to camp.
- A day pack. Like a small school backpack. You will carry this on the ferry and march with it so any snacks or water for the trip will go in it
- LABEL YOUR BAGS. Luggage tags would be a good idea.
- Full uniforms along with kilts for this campout.
- For Friday night dinner, please pack something to eat. You are not being fed by us or them on Friday night.
- CARPOOLING: We will start planning carpooling on Monday 4/22.
- For those who are able, the first ferry out to the island leaves Hyannis at 2:45pm on Friday. You need to be on the ferry by 2:30pm to take this one.
- There is a 2nd ferry that departs at 8PM on Friday. If you have to take this ferry, you will be hiking to camp in the dark.
- On the return trip, we expect to return to the ferry terminal at noon on Sunday.
- We have one Scout who is unable to attend, which means we have one slot open for someone to sign up. Let us know ASAP if you would like to go on the campout.

- March Campout – Is only 2 weeks away!
- March 8-10 at Camp Nihan in Saugus
- 131 Walnut St, Saugus, MA 01906, just off of Route 1
- $20 to attend
- $20 per person to sign up
- Arrive after 6:30pm on Friday night
- 1 Nobscot Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776, just over the town line from Framingham
- We are staying in the Henderson Lodge and Webelos Woods cabin
- Check in with us at Henderson, it is the building straight ahead when you turn onto the camp road.
- We are planning to perform service work for the camp, outdoors. Pack appropriate clothing for outdoor work. Insulated work gloves would be wise to bring.
- We will also work on rank advancement, bring your Scout handbook!
- Don’t forget your mess kit!
- Rides should be in camp for departure on Sunday by 9AM!

- We do not have all of the details yet but we know we need to register sooner than later if we want to attend as a Troop.
- The priority deadline to sign up is MARCH 1ST!
- The cost is high for this event, it will cost each of you between $75-125 to attend, the exact price will be announced after the February Troop Committee meeting. Payment will be due as soon as our unit registration is submitted, around March 1st. We will try to accommodate additional sign ups after March 1st but we expect this event to reach capacity.

- January Campout is the campout for the John Cox JLT Course
- LAST CALL for sign ups – we will allow sign ups through Monday night
- You do not want to miss this campout, even if you can only be there for part of the weekend. This includes our active adult leaders!
- January 12-14 at Camp Squanto, we have several cabins reserved to allow each PATROL to bunk together.
- The cost will be $20 to attend, this will help account for PATROL COOKING on the campout.
- You can sign up NOW for this campout and you SHOULD do so. We would like all sign ups for the JLT campout by JANUARY 1ST. This deadline will allow each PATROL to properly PLAN for the weekend ahead of time. What is the Scout Motto???
